Wouldn’t it be cool to have a female Beetlejuice (or Betelgeuse) For the musical? An female “The Whole Being Dead Thing” would be amazing!

This debate is as old as when the film first came out. Before opening the floor, lets talk about what all there is to go by...

-First his name in the introduction credits say "Beetlejuice".

Clear at that point, but then the end credits have "Betelgeuse".

The credits at the end of the film open up the debate. Then throughout the film we see "Betelgeuse".

So far, this reads as clearly during the film itself, he has the name spelled as the star "Betelgeuse" and not the title of the film.

So fast forward to 2023, and for the first there is a possible change coming. Beetlejuice 2 is likely to address the name debate. Because, at this point it be a recon. But how are we going to know? In film, if his name shows up, that will do it if it matches credits.

But for years this has been a big debate. Many want to claim "Beetlejuice" was the name for him due to different media released. However, non of it will likely be canon to Beetlejuice 2, which is the first active continuation since the first film.
